- "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai" (1999). Very good movie by Jim Jarmusch, starring Forest Whitaker as Mafia hitman, following his own strict Samurai code. Poetic.
- "The Seven Samurai" ("Shichinin no samurai"; 1954) by Akira Kurosawa. This classic was the model for "The Maginficient Seven" (1960) by John Sturges & "The Wild Bunch" (1969) by Sam Peckinpah.
- And--last, but not least: "Le Samouraï" (1967) by Jean-Pierre Melville, starring Alain Delon as lonesome killer Jef Costello, chased by the French police.
