Jazz accordion { Jazz }
Right now I'm listening to "The Song Is You" by the Art Van Damme Quintet, which features (besides a remarkably well-played guitar) some jazz accordion. This reminds me of an amazing version of Ray Noble's "Cherokee", as performed by the George Shearing Quintet of 1949 (the classic quintet, featuring - besides Shearing [p, acc] - Chuck Wayne [g], Margie Hyams [vibes, p], John Levy [b], and Denzil Best [dr]). This track features the most amazing jazz accordion I ever heard. The album ("So Rare") on which it is included was issued on LP as
SAVOY SJL 1117. (This LP is still available at GEMM.):: Claus - 11. Feb, 07:16 UTC + 1:00
